Bath Light Fixtures

We aren’t all loaded with money and sometimes it gets tough to find the right bath light fixtures for our bathrooms. If you’ve been shopping around you have probably already noticed how costly they can become.

You can find some really nice lighting for a relatively reasonable price if you know where to look. The problem is that most of the cheap stuff is just that in quality as well.

The trick to finding the right bath light fixtures is looking around online and reading the reviews other’s have on the lighting you’re looking at. Sometimes you need to take the reviews with a grain of salt, but generally they are honest and helpful.

The thing you should understand is where the reviews are being posted. I generally have distrust for testimonials that I read on sales pages, but if you go to places like amazon the reviews there are trustworthy for the most part.

Bath Light Fixtures – Light Placement

One of the most overlooked places in the home is the bathroom lighting. People generally like to spend their money on the kitchen, living room or bedroom long before they even think of anything to do with the bathroom.

This is a real shame because most bathrooms have inadequate bath light fixtures around the mirrors. A lot of times you will see only one light in the entire room. It not only does a very poor job it also doesn’t look very nice. Bathroom’s need ample light after all this is the place you go to energize yourself with a shower or relax in a bath.

It should have an ample amount of light so you can properly do the things that need doing like shaving or applying makeup. That is almost impossible with only one light. The best thing you can do with your bath light fixtures is arrange them in layers placing emphasis on areas where more light is needed.

The places you want more light include the vanity and the shower. If your room is small and you have clear glass shower doors you may not need any extra light in the shower, but generally speaking I recommend placing recessed bath light fixtures with glass lens into the shower as plastic has a tendency to turn yellow.

Another thing you can try is increase the amount of natural light that hits the room. It’s a lot easier to do if your bathroom has a window, but if it doesn’t you can install a solar tube light that will bring natural sunlight into your room during the day. This doesn’t do much for you at night, but can really save you a bundle on electricity.

Hanging large wall mirrors helps to reflect light as well and can be a real advantage when it comes to lighting a bathroom.

In the end you will need to make up your own mind on what type of lighting you’re going to be putting in your bathroom, just keep in mind bath light fixtures are a whole lot cheaper than doing a complete bathroom make over.
